Free Little Libraries
One initiative of the Blue Mountains and Nepean Sub-Branch is the Little Free Libraries.
There are currently 9 Little Free Libraries stocked by our sub-branch. These include boxes at Bidwill PS, Bennett Rd PS, Braddock PS, Freudian Slip @ Leura, Leura pre-school childcare centre, Wayzgoose diner (Leura), Winmalee Neighbourhood Centre, 20 Mile Hollow Cafe, Playgroup @ Minchinbury Anglican Church

Our Little Free Libraries are stocked with donations of quality children’s books and run on an honesty / good-will basis, whereby people can borrow and return books as needed. Hosted at cafes, schools and community groups, Little Free Libraries promote a love of reading, enjoyment of shared stories and community engagement with children’s literature.
If your community would like to host a Little Free Library, please contact us.

2020 Christmas Party Wrap-up
Blue Mountains Sub-branch members were delighted to have both Ursula Dubosarsky and Tohby Riddle as guests at our 2020 Christmas dinner, held at Le Petit Chalet, North Katoomba in late November. Ursula spoke of her role as Children’s Laureate and what she hopes to achieve during her tenure. Tohby engaged the audience with the background to his 2020 short-listed book, Yahoo Creek. We were delighted to have a preview of Ursula’s and Tohby’s new book, The March of the Ants.
